Terms of Service
Eligibility and account ownership
You must be at least 13 years old, provide accurate registration details and maintain access to your verified recovery address. Each mailbox is personal to its registered account holder unless Jiwaka.Net has approved an organisation account.
Mailbox service
The introductory mailbox provides 1 GB of storage. Storage, sending and receiving may stop when the quota is reached. Service limits may be adjusted to protect system security, deliverability and fair use.
Security
You are responsible for protecting your password and devices. Jiwaka.Net staff will never ask you to send your password by email. Report suspected compromise promptly to the support address below.
Suspension and closure
Accounts may be restricted or suspended for abuse, fraud, unlawful activity, security threats, prolonged inactivity or material breach of these policies. Where practical, users will be given notice and an opportunity to correct non-urgent breaches.
No guarantee of uninterrupted service
Reasonable care is taken to provide reliable service, but uninterrupted delivery, permanent message retention and compatibility with every external provider cannot be guaranteed. Users should retain copies of important information.
Privacy Notice
Information collected
The signup directory records your name, display name, date of birth, optional gender, recovery email, optional mobile number, province and optional local location details, preferred language, policy consent, mailbox address, quota and account status.
For security, the service also records timestamps and one-way hashes derived from the signup network address and browser information. Recovery email and mobile values are encrypted in the directory database. The directory does not store your mailbox password.
How information is used
Information is used to create and operate your mailbox, verify ownership, support account recovery, prevent abuse, communicate service notices, keep audit records and comply with lawful obligations. Optional marketing messages are sent only when selected.
Service providers and disclosure
Mailbox hosting and WebMail infrastructure process the information required to provide the service. Information may be disclosed when legally required, to investigate serious abuse, or to protect users and the mail platform. Registration data is not sold.
Retention and access
Active account records are retained while the service is provided. Pending verification records expire automatically. Security and provisioning records may be retained for operational and abuse-prevention purposes. Contact support to request access, correction or account closure, subject to identity verification and lawful retention requirements.
Acceptable Use Policy
You must not use Jiwaka.Net WebMail to:
- send spam, bulk unsolicited messages, scams or deceptive promotions;
- conduct phishing, credential theft, malware distribution or unauthorised access;
- impersonate another person, organisation, public office or Jiwaka.Net staff;
- harass, threaten, exploit or publish unlawful or seriously abusive content;
- evade sending limits, username restrictions, suspensions or security controls;
- infringe intellectual property, privacy or other legal rights; or
- interfere with mail delivery, server operation, reputation or other users.
Automated sending and commercial bulk mail require prior written approval. Suspected violations may be investigated and accounts may be rate-limited, suspended or closed.
